Safeguarding God's Children Training at St. Benedict's

Safeguarding God's Children is a Diocesan program designed to give parishes the tools to protect children from abuse. The program is designed to educate parishes on how to spot the signs of child abuse, prevent situations where abuse my occur, and to create safe and loving environments for all of God's children.

Safeguarding God's Children training is required for all adults who volunteer with youth and children and all leadership roles within the parish. The course is required every three years and can either be completed in person or online. However, the online course does not currently include training surrounding LGBTQ+ youth.

We will be offering an in-person training on Saturday, February 2, 2019, from 2-5pm in the Parish Hall. In addition to the standard Safeguarding training, this training will offer a chance to explore how we create safe and loving environments for LGBTQ+ youth and children. To sign up for this training please email Laura.
