Liturgy of the Palms, Procession, Passion reading, and Holy Eucharist
Thursday, April 1 - 7:00 pm
No footwashing this year, but we will follow the proper liturgy of the day, and strip the altar following. This service is particularly moving, and suspect it will open up new depths for us outdoors after a year of pandemic.
Outdoor Altar of Repose
Thursday, April 1 - 7:00 pm - 12: 00 am
"Pray with me one hour" from following 7:00 pm service until 12:00 midnight* (Mo. Jenna will be there the whole time). Pray before the blessed sacrament for any amount of time. Sit in silence, or use one of the provided reflections, or just rest in the presence of Jesus. Come and go as you please. You can sign up for a time, to make sure we have coverage, or just show up.
Family Sensory Stations of the Cross
Friday, April 2 - 4:00 pm
This is geared towards families with children elementary aged or younger. We'll walk the stations of the cross and pray, with a particular way to feel, touch, taste, or use our bodies at each station.
Friday, April 2 - 7:00 pm
We'll observe the prayer book liturgy on this day of paradox, including hearing John's passion, pray the Solemn Collects and venerate the Cross. No communion at this service.
Great Vigil of Easter
Saturday, April 3 - 7:00 pm
An intimate, quiet vigil this year: outdoors, simple, ancient and new. We'll light the new fire, rejoice in the mystery and joy of this night, hear the story of God's salvation, renew our baptismal vows, and ring in the first Eucharist of Easter.
Sunday, April 4 - 9:00 am
What does it look like to pull out all the festal stops while we're outside on the blacktop? Come find out! Special music, flowers, and all the Alleluias you can stand. Easter will look different this year for sure, and Christ is still risen. You don't want to miss Easter Day at St. Benedict's!
